Moving Into Stillness

Date(s) - Friday, 16 Nov, 2018
11:30 am - 12:30 pm

with Sandy Snelling and Lynn  Patton (replacing Kate France’s yin yoga class for this week)

Hatha yoga is a dance between movement and stillness. We are either holding postures or moving into them or between them. Our sensitive and deliberate movement into a posture plays a large part in our ability to be still in it, and feel comfortable in it.

One of the chief aims of yoga asanas is to bring the body into an energetic balance and prepare the mind for the stillness of meditation. So a well constructed progression of postures is a movement that leads to the stillness of meditation.

Through a mindful asana practice, pranayama and relaxation we can hope to find the stillness of meditation, the reward for our careful, sensitive practice.

Please arrive 10 minutes before the start of each class. If you are not there by this time, and the class is fully booked, your place may be offered to someone wanting to drop in. This will be considered a late cancellation and no refund or alternative will be offered.
Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Mats and other equipment are provided by Aylesbury Yoga Centre.
